Our Story

In 2009, Andrew Hamra set out to solve a problem many people were beginning to face: traditional pockets were no longer keeping up with modern essentials. With smartphones growing larger and everyday carry items like wallets and keys adding bulk, existing solutions fell short. Messenger bags felt oversized for daily use, while fanny packs lacked practicality and style.

Determined to create something better, Andrew designed an ergonomic crossbody sling—a streamlined, comfortable way to carry essentials without compromise. That idea became the PocketSling, reimagining how pockets could function in a modern world.

The PocketSling made its debut at Bonnaroo in Tennessee, where it quickly gained traction among production crews and festival attendees alike. Encouraged by this early success, the team brought the product to major events across the country, including Austin City Limits (ACL) and South by Southwest (SXSW). Demand continued to grow, with consistent sellouts at festivals, trade shows, and industry events such as New York Comic Con, Outdoor Retailer, Macworld, and the Promotional Products Expo in Las Vegas.

In 2011, following the release of the first iPad, customers began asking for a way to carry tablets with the same convenience. This feedback led to the development of the Tablet Belt Clip (www.tabletbeltclip.com), introduced two years later. Shortly after, Apple recognized its potential, and Tablet Belt Clip began collaborating with their Frontline Worker Solutions team. During this period of rapid growth and innovation, the original PocketSling took a temporary back seat.

Years later, with mobile devices continuing to evolve, the team revisited the original design. The PocketSling was updated to accommodate larger smartphones and enhanced with adjustable features for improved fit and versatility.

Today, PocketSling is being reintroduced—built on years of innovation and shaped by the loyal customers who supported it from the very beginning.
